The highly anticipated replacement for the outgoing Aston Martin DB9 is here. The new DB11 will be officially launched at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show.
Starting with the new design, the incoming DB11 reflects recent styling cues from the ‘DB10’, a car created for the James Bond film Spectre.

Notable change from the past, the DB11 will feature a new 5.2-litre twin turbocharged V12 engine in collaboration with Daimler AG, capable of delivering  600HP, and the first time the company will have anything other than a naturally aspirated engine.

The Numbers:

Maximum power - 447kW (600 bhp / 608 PS) at 6500 rpm
• Maximum torque: 700 Nm (516 lb ft) from 1500 rpm
• Acceleration: 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds
• Maximum Speed: 200 mph (322 km/h)

Another significant change, the DB11 will not offer a manual transmission. Instead buyers will be offered a eight speed with paddle shifters. Not surprising as sales of manual on the DB9 where a very small percentage, car enthusiasts looked to sportier models like the Vantage series, which offers a manual transmission.

Another Big change (for us Aston junkies) The DB11 will feature a Electronic Handbrake, first time the Aston’s lose the signature left-side handbrake which traditionally sat between the seat and the door sill which could be released only by pulling the lever higher and depressing the button while engaged.

Pricing starting at $212,000, but get in line as the company has over 1,000 advance orders from customers who got an early preview of the car.

"An immersive private space awaits inside the world’s finest sporting Grand Tourer. DB11’s sumptuous natural materials, the highest levels of craftsmanship and state- of-the-art climate control and infotainment technology provide the ultimate in comfort and convenience.

A full-colour 12" TFT LCD display for the all-new instrument cluster presents primary vehicle information with absolute clarity, while a second, centrally-mounted 8" TFT screen is dedicated to infotainment. Controlled via an intuitive rotary control, with an optional touchpad offering character recognition, multi-touch and gesture support, the new satellite navigation and audio system (Aston Martin Premium Audio or Bang & Olufsen BeoSound system upgrades available) have never been easier to operate.

Inside DB11 is a world that can be perfectly in-tune with your unique style, thanks to an inspiring palette of colours and a vast array of detailing options. From carefully co-ordinated tones to sharp contrasts in hue and texture, your choices are virtually limitless. Nexus quilting and Celestial perforation add layers of beauty, while ornate leatherwork, such as intricate brogue detailing, create areas of visual and tactile delight"

"Familiar elements have evolved. The iconic radiator grille has been reinterpreted, its lines and features amplified and celebrated. All-new LED head and tail-lights create expressive visual signatures. Triumphant new elements, such as the dramatic roof strake, underline DB11’s confidence and originality, while the new side strakes, key to DB11’s pioneering aerodynamics, bring harmony of form and function."
